Today, we’ll be focusing on the ASUS ExpertBook P1. This laptop is designed for executives who primarily work at their desks and prioritize performance over battery life. Here’s a closer look at its specifications:
- 13th Gen Intel Core i7-13700H processor
- 16GB of DDR5 RAM running at 5200MT/s
- 512GB of storage
While the specs may not be the absolute cutting edge, it’s important to remember that the ExpertBook P1 is targeted towards corporate executives. Back in the day, these specs would have been top-of-the-line for an executive laptop.
We’ve previously discussed the AI features of the ExpertBook P series, which are powered by the ExpertMeet suite. You can learn more about these features by clicking here.
In short, the ExpertMeet Panel offers a variety of AI features that are still under development but already quite helpful.
Beyond the ExpertMeet features, let’s take a closer look at the laptop itself. The ExpertBook P1 features a standard 14-inch 1080p 60Hz display. While the color accuracy and brightness may not match ASUS’s OLED displays, this screen is designed to be easy on the eyes during extended use. In fact, the less saturated colors can help reduce eyestrain according to MIT.
The screen also has a matte finish to minimize glare, making it suitable for indoors and outdoors.
The ports on the ExpertBook P1 are well-chosen for office use:
- HDMI
- 3.5mm combo audio jack
- 2x USB-C ports at 10Gb/s
- 2x USB-A ports at 5Gb/s
- Gigabit Ethernet
The keyboard and trackpad on the P1 are basic and may not feel the most comfortable to use for extended periods. However, given that most users will likely prefer an external mouse, this shouldn’t be a dealbreaker.
