Epson Malaysia has announced that they have brought in 2 new signage printers, which are the SureColor S9130 and SureColor S8130, to advance the printing industry with new tech.
Taking a quick look at them, we can know that the SC-S9130 is clearly aimed at premium work like luxury brand displays, fine art, vehicle wraps, and high-end banners, where image quality and color accuracy are critical. On the other hand, the SC-S8130 is all about productivity, cranking out solid, consistent prints for routine signage and graphics jobs.
Aside from the two machines, Epson also integrated new ink sets for both, with the SC-S9130 getting an 11-color setup, inclusive of the new Green color ink, with dual-size ink packs for flexibility. That wider gamut means more vibrant, lifelike colors across different media. Meanwhile, the SC-S8130 uses a 6-color system with Light Cyan and Light Magenta, and it even has a multi-layer halftone feature to smooth out gradients and keep colors solid.
Both support hot-swappable ink packs, so downtime stays minimal, and they run on Epson’s eco-friendly UltraChrome GS3 inks, which are Greenguard Gold Certified.
Speed and precision also get a major boost here. With upgraded MicroTFP printheads, the SC-S9130 prints about 5% faster, while the SC-S8130 is a whopping 28% quicker than its predecessor. Even more, the S9130 even includes dual rows of white ink nozzles for faster, higher-opacity white printing, and it now warms up in just 2.9 minutes instead of four.
User can also find the Nozzle Verification Technology keeps print quality steady by automatically compensating for clogs, while a new nozzle temperature sensor helps maintain color accuracy from start to finish. Plus, the updated Epson Edge Print PRO software adds a “Text Sharpness” mode for crisp text and cleaner white lettering.
On the usability side, both printers are designed with operators in mind – you get a tiltable 4.3-inch touchscreen that works even with gloves, a built-in media lifter for heavy rolls, and a flat-top surface that doubles as extra workspace. For businesses running multiple units, Epson’s Cloud Solution PORT provides cloud-based fleet monitoring, so you can track status, manage workflows, and even pull cost reports remotely.
