ROG is once again a step further in the consumer home router battle through the introduction of the new Rapture GT-BE19000AI which comes juiced up with the power of artificial intelligence.
Of course, in order to have AI features, it is equipped with a built-in AI processor that goes with the quad-core CPU, 4GB of DDR4 RAM, and 32GB onboard storage. Through the dedicated AI chip, not only can one run advanced workloads such as AI-driven applications and Docker-based services directly on the device without relying on an external PC or server, but these things are not burdening the CPU, hence minimal to no processing latency in regards to data packets.
Speaking of Docker, the brand also added a native Docker Engine with full CLI and Compose support to deploy containerized apps ranging from smart home automation and AI video recognition to DNS filtering via AdGuard, transforming the GT-BE19000AI into a full-fledged hub for smart living and cybersecurity.
On the other hand, the WiFi Insight is another addition that continuously scans interference across both WiFi and non-WiFi sources to identify the best channels and switches over for optimal connectivity, while the rest of the existing features like AI Game Boost, tri-band WiFi 7 with 320MHz channels and 4096-QAM are all present for flagship connectivity. The wired gang may also utilize the 2x 10GbE and 4x 2.5GbE for guaranteed stable conection.
Lastly, the build of the entire unit is technically better, as it comes with a 30% thicker aluminum plate with a nanocarbon coating to enhance heat dissipation by 18% compared to its predecessor. Additional features include Guest Network Pro for multiple SSIDs with configurable permissions, AiProtection for enterprise-grade home network security, and Client Insight for device monitoring.
