BenQ Group has announced that they have achieved the updated ISO 20121:2024 standard for sustainable event management at COMPUTEX 2025.

BenQ ISO20121 at COMPUTEX 2025

Winning the 3rd one in a row and the first company to do this in Taiwan, BenQ deployed a much more smarter strategy to achieve this, because despite doubling in size, they have cut carbon emissions by 30% compared to last year through a full-range sustainability-first approach, such as using 100% circular materials, renting equipment instead of buying, and designing everything for reuse. After the show wrapped, they even sent the materials back to KY-POST, their design partner, to be reused again at the SDG Asia Expo in September.

And under the ISO framework, they managed to hit all 22 ESG goals spanning environmental, social, and governance areas, covering things like zero single-use utensils, digital-first communication, AI-powered smart solutions, and local vegan catering. They also turned booth materials into giveaway items and hosted campus seminars to spread awareness on sustainability and digital responsibility.

Joe Huang, BenQ’s GM, put it plainly: COMPUTEX is a global tech stage, and BenQ wanted to show how innovation and green responsibility can go hand in hand. They brought together 23 group companies to show off everything from AI tools to healthcare tech, all while aligning with climate goals and digital inclusion.

Speaking of that, the 30 sustainability-focused partners, from design firms like KY-POST to eco-friendly suppliers and NGOs, all working together to create a greener, smarter exhibition that also leaned into the new ISO standard’s focus on things like supply chain responsibility, stakeholder engagement, and long-term sustainability culture.
