Southeast Asia is gearing up for its biggest-ever gaming event, as gamescom asia and the Thailand Game Show officially merge for a historic debut in Bangkok, Thailand. The combined mega-event, themed “World of Gaming“, is set to run from October 16–19, 2025, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC).
This landmark merger follows four successful editions of gamescom asia in Singapore, and for the first time, brings together the global games industry and thousands of fans under one roof to celebrate every facet of the gaming ecosystem. The total event is expected to feature close to 300 exhibitors and 200+ indie titles.
A Festival of Two Worlds: Business and Entertainment
The event is strategically divided into two distinct, yet complementary, segments: a business focus for industry professionals and a massive entertainment spectacle for fans.
1. The Business Area (October 16–17)
The first two days focus on industry professionals, featuring panels, networking, and deal-making.
- Speakers and Thought Leaders: The event will host over 70 speakers from 20 countries. Conference headliner Glen Schofield (creator of Dead Space, Call of Duty, and The Callisto Protocol) will deliver a keynote titled “10 Ways to Find Inspiration.” Speakers hail from major companies including Avalanche Studios, Bethesda, Gearbox, Marvel Games, Pocketpair, Super Evil Megacorp, and Ubisoft.
- Industry Events: Business area sponsors include Epic Games Store, Xbox, and Xsolla, who will host key networking events like the B2B Party and the Invest Circle & VIP Mixer.
- Indie and Talent Spotlight: The schedule features a Pitch Competition, sponsored by BACKND, where 13 finalist teams will pitch their games to international publishers and investors. Additionally, the Thai Game Software Industry Association will organize the Thailand Game Talent Showcase, featuring standout student-developed games.
2. The Entertainment Area (October 17–19)
The main public festival takes over Bangkok for three days and is expected to draw over 200,000 attendees.
- Major Showcases: Fans can expect new game demos and showcases from major gaming brands like 4Divinity, Amazing Seasun, Bandai Namco Entertainment, Behaviour Interactive, Capcom, HoYoverse, Konami, Nintendo, PlayStation, Tencent, The Pokémon Company, Ubisoft, Xbox, and more.
- Indie and Hardware: The event will showcase over 60 playable indie titles making their Thailand debut. It will also host hardware showcases and exclusive launches from brands such as AMD, HyperX, Intel, Omen, Predator, Republic of Gamers, Sandisk, and SteelSeries.
- Local Flavor and Competitions: The entertainment area will feature a showcase of over 80 gaming companies from Thailand. Highlights include the Thailand Game Awards, a new event theme song performed live by Jannine “Ploychompoo” Weigel, and the Zone Zean Game Challenge for Street Fighter 6, which includes a 30,000 THB prize pool and professional fighting games player, Xian, as a final boss to defeat.
- Fan Events: Attendees can look forward to meet-and-greets with creators and influencers, and a large cosplay contest with prizes totaling over 300,000 THB (approximately USD 9,300).
