Synology is doubling down on its mission to safeguard the world’s data, celebrating 25 years of innovation with a strong financial performance and the launch of a new portfolio of products. The announcement, made at the Synology Solution Day 2025 in Kuala Lumpur on October 14, 2025, underscores the company’s commitment to enhancing cyber resilience for enterprises navigating an era of explosive data growth.

Accelerating Digital Transformation Amidst Rising Threats

The driver behind this momentum is the ongoing wave of digital transformation, which Thachawan Chinchanakarn, Head of Southeast Asia at Synology, notes is “fueling greater demand for advanced solutions.” The scale of data growth is staggering: the world is projected to generate 175 zettabytes of data by 2025, a number expected to grow tenfold within the next decade.

Despite nearly 90% of Southeast Asian businesses investing in digital transformation, Synology’s 2025 survey highlights significant challenges:

  • 85% of organizations are still in the early stages of their transformation journey.
  • More than 55% have suffered cyberattacks.
  • Worryingly, only one in five are confident in their ability to recover from a data breach.

Strong Financial Growth Reflects Customer Trust

With an integrated data management ecosystem that now powers over 14 million installations globally, Synology continues to be a trusted partner.

In Malaysia, this trust has translated into significant business success. “In the past five years, Synology has continuously earned the trust of enterprises and organizations in Malaysia, achieving almost double increase in revenue,” said Jason Sin, Country Manager of Synology Malaysia. He added that the company’s enterprise adoption has soared by 130% over the same period, reflecting the strong confidence businesses place in Synology to meet their evolving IT needs.

Next-Phase Products Focus on Performance and Protection

To meet the increasing demand for advanced solutions, Synology premiered several flagship products across its portfolio:

Enterprise-Grade Backup Appliance: ActiveProtect

Launched earlier this year, ActiveProtect is a purpose-built backup appliance designed for enterprises with diverse workloads and multiple sites. Offering models from 8TB to 140TB, it provides robust defense with immutable backups, air-gap capabilities, and regulatory compliance support to counter sophisticated cyber threats.

Ultra-High Performance Storage: PAS7700

Synology unveiled its first all-NVMe enterprise storage, the PAS7700. This flagship active-active primary storage system delivers ultra-high performance with an end-to-end NVMe architecture, achieving up to 2 million IOPS and 30 GB/s throughput with less than 1 millisecond latency. Its active-active architecture ensures continuous availability for mission-critical workloads.

AI-Powered Collaboration Tools

Looking ahead, Synology plans to integrate AI-powered capabilities into its Synology Office Suite. These features, including OCR, semantic search, summarization, and real-time translation, will be powered by on-premises servers. This ensures sensitive data remains private while offering organizations smarter and safer ways to collaborate.

“Our portfolio demonstrates Synology’s commitment to delivering simple, scalable, and secure solutions that empower businesses to safeguard their most critical assets and thrive in the digital future,” concluded Thachawan Chinchanakarn, emphasizing that cyber resilience is the top priority for IT leaders worldwide.
