Synology has recently released the DS1825+ and DS1525+, its latest compact yet powerful DiskStation NAS models crafted for small to medium businesses and power users.

Designed to handle demanding workloads, the DS1525+ and DS1825+ include dual 2.5GbE ports. The DS1525+ supports 10GbE upgrades via the E10G22-T1-Mini module, while the DS1825+ offers a PCIe 3.0 slot for 10/25GbE expansion. Both models are also equipped with two M.2 slots for SSD caching or all-flash storage pools.

Performance-wise, the DS1825+ achieves sequential SMB speeds of up to 2,239 MB/s read and 1,573 MB/s write with SSDs, whereas the DS1525+ delivers read and write speeds up to 1,181 MB/s and 1,180 MB/s.

On top of that, both systems are built with scalability in mind, allowing users to add up to two 5-bay DX525 expansion units to meet growing storage demands. When fully expanded, the DS1525+ supports up to 300TB of raw storage, while the DS1825+ can handle up to 360TB with 18 and 15 drives, respectively.

Powered by Synology’s DiskStation Manager (DSM), both models also provide robust tools for business needs, including Synology Drive for private cloud access and team syncing, Active Backup Suite for comprehensive device and VM protection, and Surveillance Station for scalable video monitoring with smart analytics.
