Alibaba and Bosch have signed yet another partnership to ramp up digital transformation through cloud computing, AI, and global e-commerce.
Bosch will be tapping into Alibaba Cloud’s infrastructure for things like corporate operations, home appliances, and even commercial vehicles, aiming for smarter and more efficient processes. On the automotive side, the two companies are looking at integrating Qwen-based multimodal AI models to make in-car experiences more intuitive and are even exploring next-gen automated driving solutions with Qwen’s visual language tech.
On top of all that, e-commerce is a huge part of the deal as Bosch plans to roll out new product categories in China in 2025, using insights from Alibaba’s platforms, and expand further into Southeast Asia, Spain, and Latin America through Lazada, Miravia, and AliExpress. Since first teaming up in 2017 on Alibaba’s Tmall, Bosch has already built a strong digital presence in China, and this move is about scaling that success worldwide.
Bosch’s Chief Digital Officer, Dr. Tanja Rückert, said the move brings together Alibaba’s cloud and AI strengths with Bosch’s deep tech expertise in areas like mobility, industrial solutions, and consumer goods, while Alibaba’s Chairman Joe Tsai added that Bosch’s automotive and household tech paired with Alibaba’s AI and e-commerce platforms makes for a powerful combo that can deliver real value to customers worldwide.
