Microsoft has officially opened pre-orders in Malaysia for its latest Surface Pro and Surface Laptop models, both featuring AI-first Copilot+ PC capabilities. The new 13-inch Surface Laptop and 12-inch Surface Pro are tailored for users seeking portability, long battery life, and deep integration with Microsoft’s next-gen AI tools.
The 13-inch Surface Laptop is positioned as the thinnest and lightest Surface Laptop to date. Despite its compact footprint, it features a Full HD touchscreen, the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus processor, and impressive battery life of up to 23 hours for video playback or 16 hours for web browsing. Microsoft also improved the hardware experience with a fingerprint-enabled power button, a Copilot key for instant AI access, and a quieter typing experience thanks to the redesigned keyboard. Sustainability gets a nod here too, with the laptop’s cobalt battery made entirely from recycled materials.
Meanwhile, the 12-inch Surface Pro combines tablet-level portability with laptop-grade performance. Weighing just 680 grams, it’s designed for users constantly on the move. It supports the new Surface Slim Pen via a magnetic charging dock and can be paired with the Surface Pro Keyboard in Slate (offered in Singapore) to unlock full typing functionality. The keyboard also includes Copilot and lock keys, a customizable touchpad, and an improved writing surface. The device enclosure itself uses over 80% recycled materials, and Microsoft highlights its modular repairability as a further sustainability effort.
Both devices ship as part of Microsoft’s Copilot+ PC initiative, delivering AI-driven experiences like Recall (for context-based file retrieval), Click to Do, Photos Relight, and smarter natural language search. A new system-level agent architecture supports these features, offering deeper contextual integration across Settings and other core apps.
