The wait is finally over as AMD is ready to dominate the high end gaming PC rig with its long-teased Ryzen 9 9950X3D and Ryzen 9 9900X3D.
These processors are equipped with 2nd-gen 3D V-Cache technology that enables up to 144MB of cache for even more performance than the standard models, leading to the crazy 5.7GHz boost clock in the case of the 9950X3D. When compared against the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, the cores and threads have been doubled too.
At 170W TDP, AMD is claiming an 8% average performance improvement over the last-gen flagship 7950X3D but an astounding 20% against the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K, despite it being well known that Team Blue isn’t gunning for raw and brute computing performance but rather efficiency for the Core Ultra 200S series offerings.
On the other hand, those who want the X3D tech but don’t need that much cores can opt for the 9900X3D that comes with 12C24T config, up to 5.5GHz boost clock, 140MB total cache and 120W TGDP which is the same as the non-X3D counterpart.
Availability
The official RRP for them is US$599 for the Ryzen 9 9900X3D and US$699 for the Ryzen 9 9950X3D respectively.
