Kingston has once again cemented its position at the top of the global SSD market as TrendForce named the company the number one third-party SSD supplier in the channel for all of 2024, commanding 36 percent of global unit shipments over the year.

Maintaining this lead while growing its market share over 2023, Kingston outpaced the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th (even if combined), thanks to its extensive global channel presence, a strong and diverse SSD lineup, and consistently reliable customer support. Although retail SSD sales declined due to weak consumer demand and near-universal notebook SSD attach rates, marking a 14 percent year-over-year drop in channel shipments, TrendForce notes that rising AI adoption in PCs and edge devices is set to boost demand for high-capacity, high-performance solid-state storage, positioning brands with advanced integration, strong channels, and firm branding to benefit most in the next cycle of growth.

Throughout 2024, Kingston broadened its portfolio with new products across client, data center, industrial, and external segments, including the NV3 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD that delivers high-capacity 4×4 performance in a compact form factor, and the DC2000B PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD designed as a durable boot drive for high-volume rack-mount servers. The company also introduced a red-colored XS1000 External SSD that earned a 2024 Red Dot Award for Product Design, while refreshing its Industrial SSD line with next-generation locked-BOM models built for demanding environments such as self-service kiosks, robotics, digital signage, point-of-sale systems, and video surveillance.
