vivo Malaysia is gearing up for the official arrival of its Vision Discovery Edition MR headset, but before that, they will be giving out trial sessions to the public through 3 selected flagship concept stores.
officially introduced the Vision Discovery Edition, marking the company’s entry into mixed reality with its first purpose-built MR headset. The rollout includes guided public sessions at flagship concept stores in Mid Valley Megamall Kuala Lumpur, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, and Queensbay Mall Penang, running until 28 February 2026 on a registration-only basis.
During these sessions, attendees can try out a range of MR demonstrations, including an immersive dome video that replicates a portable 120-foot cinema, multi-angle sports and esports viewing, and gesture-based controls powered by vivo OriginOS Vision. With limited slots available, the programme is designed to generate hands-on familiarity and early community feedback as vivo scales up its mixed-reality ambitions.
The Vision Discovery Edition itself is the result of four years of specialised R&D that combines vivo’s expertise in imaging, sensor design and display engineering. It introduces a gesture-first interaction system supported by high-precision eye tracking with up to 1.5 degrees of accuracy and 26-degree-of-freedom finger recognition. The dual Micro-OLED panels deliver an 8K-equivalent binocular output with calibration to minimise visual strain, while the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 platform powers real-time rendering and advanced on-device compute.
